The Colisee loves our fans and community, and is the reason we have been restoring and updating the fan experience such as all the new digital boards, multiple cameras angles/instant replay, multiple bar and food venues, comedy club headliners, adding a high-level hockey Academy, etc.
We are committed to rebuilding not only the arena experience but our strong community ties. But we must do so in a steady and fiscally responsible manner to continue to bring the Colisee out from its challenged financial history of losses. As many have heard, the MPA decided to move the HS States Championships series to alternate locations this year.
They stated that our request for $2/$3 of their $10 ticket sale was a deal-breaker, and they would only pay the cost of ice rental hours. Unfortunately, this is contrary to established venue business models, and frankly an obvious and historically losing financial situation for the arena. We were therefore unable to accommodate their mandate. We sincerely apologize to the community for this, but will continue to do our best to improve our Fan experience, our Maine nationally bound academy 18u teams, and our NAHL Nordiques Marquee Team (2021 East Div Champions/Robertson Cup Semifinalists).
We truly appreciate your continued support of the Colisee as well.
